Challenge:
Design a gallery and office space on a sensitive site, across from the entrance to Frederiksborg Castle, and get building permission from the council after the case had previously stalled for 3 years in Hillerød, Denmark.
Solution:
”Renovated”(read completely re-designed) a 90m2 gallery building from 1938, adhering to the design and size of the original, keeping a couple of good design ideas from previous proposals, updating and customizing it to the clients needs and wishes, to be used initially as his personal workplace, while also keeping in mind future uses of the space.
We also kept a firewall from the old building in order to be allowed to use the original building code and build close to the edge of Hillerød Lake, successfully getting building permission within 4 months.
Then went on to detailing and draw full dokumentation for the build.
